| Pilgrims Lose to Cubs, 3-0 | The Boston Pilgrims and Seattle Cubs left the fans buzzing.
The Boston Pilgrims went down to defeat to Curry Foley and his Seattle teammates. The final score was 3-0 in favor of the Cubs. Tim Crabtree was credited with the save, his 14th in 17 tries.
Travis Hafner, who finished 3rd in the PBL in wins above replacement with 6.9 in 1988, aided the Seattle cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
After the game, Hafner told the Seattle Gazette, "Like I've always said, the challenge is what makes this game worth playing."
The 8th-place Cubs improved to 59-81.
