| Pilgrims Top Cubs in Extras, 3-2 | The Boston Pilgrims managed to get by the Seattle Cubs, 3-2, at Wrigley Field. Boston pitcher Lee Richmond set himself apart with his performance. Boston reliever Cody Allen picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Tim Crabtree took the loss. Earning the save was David Phelps. He's now cashed in 18 of 21 save opportunities.
Frank Hankinson was vital part of the Boston win. He went 1 for 5. In the top of the tenth with one out, Hankinson hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, in favor of the Pilgrims.
In postgame comments to the Boston Daily News, Richmond said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The win gives Boston a season record of 91-51.
