| Spratt HR-Happy in 7-6 Win | The Boston Pilgrims topped the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 7-6, in Phoenix Baseball League action at Allegheny Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston second baseman Harry Spratt. Boston reliever David Phelps was the winner. His record is now 1-3. Clay Bryant took the loss. The win puts Boston at 8-9.
Boston used the timely hitting of Bill Keister to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pilgrims on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Keister. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
