| Cubs Win at New York, 7-2 | Seattle Cubs starter Oil Can Boyd was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the New York Yankees, 7-2. Boyd, now 2-1, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no runs. New York now has a 5-game losing streak.
