| DiMaggio drives in 6 runs to Pull Pilgrims to .500 | The Boston Pilgrims downed the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 9-4, at Allegheny Park. The Pilgrims were led by Vince DiMaggio. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. Lee Richmond got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Ambassadors to 2 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The win puts Boston at 9-9.
DiMaggio had a key at-bat for Boston early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and gave Boston an early 3-0 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," DiMaggio said.
