Darvish Now 1-0 After Subduing Padres
A good time was had by all at Yankee Stadium I, where the San Diego Padres and New York Yankees tangled.

New York pitcher Yu Darvish did his part in helping his team beat the San Diego Padres, 1-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Doug Jones got credit for the save for New York. It was his 2nd of the year.

Darvish gave New York a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager Chris Patricola.

The victory makes New York 2-0.
