Jack Morris earned player of the game honors, as he threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. New York and Boston are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Reggie Jackson was a prime contributor to the New York win. He was 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the tenth with two out, the fan favorite hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It made the score 3-2, in favor of the Yankees.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager Andreas Panagos.
