| Padres Absorb 6-0 Loss at Pamprin Ballpark | The home crowd had a good time watching the San Diego Padres and Tampon Bay Pussies get after it.
The Tampon Bay Pussies got a strong performance from pitcher Smoky Joe Wood, who stymied the San Diego offense en route to a win, 6-0, at Pamprin Ballpark. Oil Can Boyd, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities.
In the bottom of the third, Tampon Bay third baseman Dick Allen took San Diego pitcher Claude Osteen deep. His 2-run home run made the score 2-0, Pussies. For the game, Allen was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Allen told the Tampon Bay Daily News.
With the victory, the Pussies upped their record to 46-24.
