| Black Aces Turn Back Lake Monsters, 3-1 | The Cleveland Lake Monsters went down to defeat to Miles Mikolas and his Houston teammates. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Black Aces. Sean Doolittle was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 18 save opportunities. With the victory, the Black Aces upped their record to 41-26.
Miguel Cabrera had a big run-scoring double for the Black Aces in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Christy Mathewson and swatted a double to right. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Black Aces ahead, 2-0.
Mikolas called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
