| Lake Monsters Beat Visiting Ambassadors, 7-0 | Cleveland Lake Monsters starter Bob Muncrief was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 7-0. Muncrief got the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Muncrief allowed no runs. Adbert Alzolay recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 1 for 1.
One consequential at-bat came in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, the batter, Bill Skowron, hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 2-0, Cleveland, and helped them go on to win.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Cleveland manager John Byedon.
The Lake Monsters go to 33-50 with the win.
