Pilgrims Beat Visiting Yankees, 10-8 | New York center fielder Wally Berger had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 10-8, to Boston at Fenway Park II. Berger was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs. Johnny Cueto earned the win for Boston. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 5-0. Boston now has a 3-game win streak.
Sam West dealt the Yankees a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with the bases loaded and Boston leading 3-2, West, who is tied for 8th in the PBL in hits with 117, hit a full count curveball for a bases-clearing triple.
In comments to the Boston Daily News, West admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves." | | | | |
