The Black Aces got a big game from Eric Karros, who went 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times. Houston reliever Kevin McGlinchy picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fred Johnson took the loss. With the win, the Black Aces sit at 56-37.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Houston shortstop Leo Cardenas, facing Fred Johnson, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Black Aces the 6-5 win.
