| Pilgrims Down Cubs, 3-1 | The Boston Pilgrims got a stellar effort from pitcher Al Orth, helping Boston score a win over the visiting Seattle Cubs, 3-1. The Pilgrims bumped their record to 62-41 with this latest triumph.
The action was intense with one out in the top of the sixth inning. With a runner on 2nd and Seattle trailing 2-1, Al Orth had to face the 27-year old second baseman Podge Weihe, who was hoping to turn the game around. It was not to be, as Weihe struck out.
