| Big Day for Veach as Yankees Down Cubs, 8-4 | A 5-RBI performance from the 30-year old left fielder Bobby Veach helped the New York Yankees beat the Seattle Cubs, 8-4. Yu Darvish got the win, improving to 6-3. He held the Cubs to 3 runs on 3 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The win for the Yankees raised their record to 62-57.
New York took the lead in the top of the fifth when Veach hit a 2-run double. His 26th double of the season made the score 5-3, New York.
"Winning never gets dull," said Veach.
