Benefiting from Sam West's productive game, the Boston Pilgrims downed the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 7-4. West went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Pilgrims. The victory gives Boston a record of 80-44.

West had a timely hit for Boston in the bottom of the seventh. With Pittsburgh trailing 3-2, he turned a 3-1 curveball into a bases-clearing triple. It was his 8th triple of the season, making it 5-3, Boston.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," West said.
