The Tampon Bay Pussies weathered a fine game by Texas left fielder Albert Pujols to upend the Rangers, 8-7, at Pamprin Ballpark. Pujols went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win gives Tampon Bay a record of 9-9.

The Pussies procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Dick Allen. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"It was a solid team effort," said Allen after the game.
