| Tampon Bay Beats Pittsburgh, 9-7 | A good performance from first baseman Hal Trosky Sr helped the Tampon Bay Pussies defeat the Pittsburgh Ambassadors, 9-7. Trosky Sr was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Pussies. Roy Crabb locked down his 6th save. The Ambassadors, 10-13, continue their poor start to the 1999 campaign.
Trosky Sr contributed in the top of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Tampon Bay get the win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Trosky Sr.
