Stars Win at Pittsburgh, 4-0 | Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Pittsburgh Ambassadors home opener. Clayton Kershaw started for the home team against Pete Alexander for the Philadelphia Stars. The Ambassadors were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 4-0, Philadelphia. Pete Alexander, though, was impressive. Bill Sayles recorded the save, his 1st.
Brandon Inge, the 26-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Inge contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Inge said after the game. | | | | |
