Fans who congregated at Cleveland Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Houston Black Aces weathered an outstanding game by Cleveland first baseman Bill Skowron to topple the Lake Monsters, 7-6. Skowron hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Houston pitcher Boone Logan got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Steve Hamilton got the loss.

The Houston triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Eric Karros. In the top of the 12th, the Houston first baseman hit a solo home run. It staked his team to a 7-6 lead.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Karros told the Houston Gazette. "It's as simple as that."

The Lake Monsters, now 12-19 this season, have struggled to play .500 ball.
