Allen, Pussies Wallop Yankees in Game 2 of Challenger Round
Tampon Bay third baseman Dick Allen produced all the offense the Pussies would need today in the club's 9-2 win over the New York Yankees.

Allen went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4, while Tampon Bay moved into a tie in the Challenger Round. The Pussies and Yankees are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Trevor Story dealt the Yankees a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Tampon Bay leading 4-2, Story, who is a three-time Calgon Soft Hands Award winner, hit a 1-2 sinker for a 2-run single.

"We're happy," Allen told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday, October 11th, 1999 at Yankee Stadium I. The scheduled starters for the game are Jim Bunning for Tampon Bay and Denny McLain for New York.
