| Allegheneys Heading to Round 2 | The Pittsburgh Allegheneys clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Seattle Cubs room was filled with despair and sadness after the Play In concluded.
"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Eddie Yost, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.
Pittsburgh won the final game by a 5-3 count at Allegheny Park and the series 4-1.
Seattle manager Gary Lent was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.
"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.
For the series, Yost hit .438 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.
