Lake Monsters Hammered by Davis, Drop Game 4 to Black Aces | The Houston Black Aces defeated the Cleveland Lake Monsters, 10-6 in Game 4 of the PBL World Series today. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Tommy Davis, who went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The win moves Houston into a 2-2 tie with Cleveland in the series.
The Black Aces took a 5-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Facing Cleveland hurler Rick Sutcliffe with one out, Davis hit a grand slam home run.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jimi Patricola.
The next game is set to be played Friday in Houston. The scheduled starters for the game are Patrick Corbin for the Cleveland Lake Monsters and Mario Soto for the the Houston Black Aces. | | | | |
