| Host Black Aces Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2 | Game 5 was big. So was Patrick Corbin.
The Cleveland starter rose to the occasion at Aces Pavillion today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Lake Monsters to a crucial 4-1 victory over the Houston Black Aces. Corbin threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball as the Lake Monsters won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 PBL World Series.
Corbin gave Cleveland a solid start. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 9 innings.
"We played hard and won," said Corbin. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday. The scheduled starters for the game are Mike Krukow for Houston and Jose DeLeon for Cleveland.
