Ambassadors Rally to Tally 7-5 Win | The Pittsburgh Ambassadors picked up a win at Connie Mack Stadium, taking down the Philadelphia Stars, 7-5. Starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw was a big reason why. Pittsburgh reliever Ubaldo Jimenez got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Rich Yett was tagged with the loss. Clay Bryant recorded his 9th save for Pittsburgh.
Had Bob Dillinger not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Dillinger hit a 2-run double. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Ambassadors.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Kershaw said after the game.
The win puts Pittsburgh at 15-24. | | | | |
