Rangers Earn 8-7 Win Versus Lake Monsters
Matt Wieters was a major factor in the 8-7 Texas win over Cleveland. The Rangers catcher went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Texas pitcher Ray Poat got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ralph Beard got the loss. The win puts Texas at 25-14 this season.

The game came to an abrupt end with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Hector Carrasco, Albert Pujols drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Texas the 8-7 win.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Pujols.
