| Cubs Sneak Past Stars, 3-2 | Seattle starter Mike O'Neill pitched effectively against the Philadelphia Stars at Wrigley Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Seattle reliever Cody Allen was credited with the win, to go to 3-3. Skip Pitlock took the loss for Philadelphia. Seattle is now 26-30, while Philadelphia is 22-34.
In the bottom of the fourth, Seattle shortstop Charlie Hollocher had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Hollocher stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-1, Seattle. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," O'Neill said after the game.
