Cubs Deal Lake Monsters 7-4 Defeat | Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Cleveland Lake Monsters take on the Seattle Cubs.
The Seattle Cubs knocked off the Cleveland Lake Monsters, 7-4, at Cleveland Stadium. Justin Upton was a big reason Seattle won. The left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winner in relief was Monte Weaver. He is now 2-1. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. Tim Crabtree converted his 10th save in 12 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Chris B Young, the top prospect . Young contributed a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put Seattle up, 5-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Young told the Seattle Gazette.
With the victory, the Cubs record now stands at 28-38. | | | | |
