The Philadelphia Stars outlasted Farmer Weaver and the New York Yankees, 9-8. Weaver was impressive in the loss. The New York right fielder was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 3 times. The winner in relief was Diego Segui. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. The save went to Bill Sayles, number 3 for him.
