| Stars Prevail, 7-6, Over San Diego | The Philadelphia Stars downed the San Diego Padres, 7-6. The hitting star was designated hitter Bob Aspromonte. Aspromonte went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Stars. Philadelphia reliever Robinson Checo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. John Halama was saddled with the loss. Philadelphia, at 36-47, holds down 8th place in the PBL.
Aspromonte had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 sinker from John Halama, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Stars a 6-5 lead. It was the 13th double of the year for Aspromonte.
"It feels good to get this one," Aspromonte told the Philadelphia Bulletin.
