| Pussies Rebuff Pilgrims, 3-1 | In a low-scoring clash between Tampon Bay and Boston, pitcher Michael Foltynewicz was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Foltynewicz, now 4-2. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Frank Browning earned the save, his 2nd in 2 tries.
Hal Trosky Sr, the Tampon Bay first baseman, contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to make the score 2-0, Pussies. For the game, Trosky Sr went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Trosky Sr told the Tampon Bay Daily News.
The win boosted Tampon Bay to 58-28.
