| Win Makes Black Aces 55-33 | The Black Aces grabbed a win, 9-3, at Connie Mack Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Philadelphia pitcher Camilo Pascual. Pascual went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Howard Ehmke notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. The Black Aces have an impressive 55-33 record.
Bill Freehan, who is a five-time Calgon Soft Hands Award winner, aided the Houston cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the catcher was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
