Rangers Dealt 7-2 Home Loss | The Philadelphia Stars stopped the Texas Rangers, 7-2, behind an impressive performance from Randy G Johnson. The 32-year old second baseman made life miserable for Texas pitching. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Camilo Pascual, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Stars, at 48-55, sit in 5th place in the PBL.
The Philadelphia win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Victor Caratini. In the top of the fourth, the Philadelphia catcher came to bat and hit a 3-run home run. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Caratini. | | | | |
