Cubs Weihe Smacks 5 Hits
Seattle second baseman Podge Weihe had a big day at Cleveland Stadium today against the Cleveland Lake Monsters. The 27-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Cubs to a 14-3 triumph over Cleveland.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Weihe said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Podge Weihe doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.

On the year Weihe is hitting .254 with 114 hits, 11 home runs, 61 RBIs, .302 OBP and has scored 45 runs.
