| Lake Monsters Lose, 4-2 | Texas Rangers left-hander Gene Bearden pitched a good game against the Cleveland Lake Monsters at Cleveland Stadium, leading his team to victory, 4-2. Roy Witherup notched his 29th save in 31 chances. With the win, the Rangers have a record of 66-82.
Adam Engel was a prime factor in the win for the Rangers. In the top of the second with one out, the 27-year old center fielder hit a 2-run triple. He went 1 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Cleveland manager John Byedon. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
