Multi-HR Day for Freehan as Black Aces Overpower Stars, 11-3 | The Houston Black Aces dumped the Philadelphia Stars, 11-3, in large part due to catcher Bill Freehan. On the day, Freehan was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Black Aces. Jack Fisher went 6 innings for Houston to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Ray Kremer earned the save for Houston, his 1st of the year.
With Houston leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Freehan hit a 3-run home run off Philadelphia hurler Jordan M Zimmermann. It was the 5th home run of the season for Freehan and put his team ahead, 4-0.
"If it's down the middle," said Freehan, "you might as well hit it."
