| Black Aces Come Back Late to Clip Pussies | Houston Black Aces starter Jack Fisher turned in an exceptional performance against the Tampon Bay Pussies at Aces Pavillion, resulting in a Houston win, 3-2. The Pussies drop to 10-10 and continue their mediocre start to the 1999 season.
The Black Aces got a big at-bat from second baseman Tony Lazzeri. For the game, Lazzeri went 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Houston a 2-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Houston skipper Jimi Patricola.
