Extra frames were needed to settle this game between the New York Yankees and Tampon Bay Pussies.

The Tampon Bay Pussies got a superb performance from pitcher Smoky Joe Wood, but the New York Yankees still won the game, 4-2. Wood threw 7 innings of shutout ball. The win was credited to Scott Strickland in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Oil Can Boyd took the loss. Andy Hassler earned the save for New York, his 1st.

In the top of the 15th inning with no one out, New York left fielder Bobby Veach hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 2-1, Yankees. For the day, Veach drove in one run.
