The final score had Philadelphia getting past the Pilgrims, 3-1. Clemens went 5 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 3. Rich Yett picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Erv Palica was tagged with the loss. The victory puts Philadelphia at 26-39.
In the top of the sixth, Philadelphia catcher Victor Caratini took Boston pitcher Erv Palica deep. His solo home run made the score 2-1, Stars. For the game, Caratini was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk.
