| Boston Gets 6-2 Win Against Lake Monsters | In the 6-2 Boston win over Cleveland, the impact of Billy Werber was substantial. Werber, who finished 2nd in the PBL in doubles with 46 last year, went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Johnny Cueto. He tossed 87 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. David Phelps was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 11 save opportunities.
The Pilgrims got a big at-bat from shortstop Jim Fregosi. For the game, Fregosi was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Boston a 3-0 lead.
