Lake Monsters Turn Away Ambassadors, 4-2 | The Cleveland Lake Monsters weathered a fine game by Pittsburgh shortstop Derek Jeter to upend the Ambassadors, 4-2, at Cleveland Stadium. Jeter was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Cleveland reliever Andy Hansen picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bobby Shantz took the loss. The win has Cleveland at 34-50.
Also making an impact was third baseman Kris Bryant, who drilled a 2-run triple in the bottom of the first inning for the Lake Monsters. For the game, Bryant went 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
