Cubs Clonk Lake Monsters, 10-4 | The Seattle Cubs beat the Cleveland Lake Monsters, 10-4, at Wrigley Field. Brett Lawrie was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The 28-year old third baseman was a menace to Cleveland all day. With the win over Cleveland, the Cubs improved to 43-57.
Podge Weihe contributed to the Cubs cause with a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing double, giving Seattle the lead.
