Great Effort by Pussies 1B Trosky Sr Not Enough in 9-6 Loss | Tampon Bay first baseman Hal Trosky Sr had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-6, to Houston at Pamprin Ballpark. Trosky Sr went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Sean Doolittle was credited with the save, his 26th in 31 tries. The victory gives Houston a record of 77-51.
Tied up with the Pussies in the top of the ninth inning, the Black Aces got a boost from shortstop Tony Lazzeri. With the bases loaded, Lazzeri saw a 0-2 fastball from Roy Crabb and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Houston on top, 8-6.
