| Big Day for Flick as Stars Down Ambassadors, 14-7 | The umbrellas came out during the Philadelphia-Pittsburgh contest at Allegheny Park.
Elmer Flick made an impact in the 14-7 Philadelphia win over Pittsburgh. Flick, who finished 5th in the PBL in stolen bases with 40 last year, went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 5. Philadelphia reliever Skip Pitlock got the win, raising his record to 3-5. Harry McIntire was tagged with the loss.
It could have been a different outcome for Philadelphia, had it not been for Jimmy T Williams, the 1991 Topps Rookie of the Year Award winner . Williams contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Philadelphia up, 7-6.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Flick told the Philadelphia Bulletin.
The 5th-place Stars are 68-79.
