| Tampon Bay Tops New York 5-2, Claim 2-1 Series Lead | With starter Jim Bunning leading the charge, the Tampon Bay Pussies defeated the New York Yankees, 5-2, in Game 3 of the Challenger Round today. The right-hander threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball at Yankee Stadium I to help Tampon Bay take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Chuck Knoblauch, the 1993 Most Valuable Player Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Knoblauch contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Tampon Bay up, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Tampon Bay skipper Dan LaHousse.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yankee Stadium I. The scheduled starters for the game are Mike O'Neill for Tampon Bay and Denny McLain for New York.
