PBL World Series Game 1 Victory for Newhouser and Tampon Bay | The Tampon Bay Pussies started the PBL World Series in style today, downing the visiting Boston Pilgrims at Pamprin Ballpark by a score of 7-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Pussies left-hander Hal Newhouser threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball.
In the bottom of the fifth, with the game tied, Boston allowed the Pussies to go up, 2-1, on a Boston error.
Newhouser called the win "a team effort."
