| Pilgrims, Pussies Play 11 to Settle Game 3, Boston Now Leads Series 2-1 | When the games really matter, the Boston Pilgrims put on their best show, beating the Tampon Bay Pussies by a final score of 7-6 today. Del Gainer went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI. Boston now leads Tampon Bay 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Boston shortstop Jim Fregosi, facing Frank Browning, had a run-scoring triple. It gave the Pilgrims the 7-6 win.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Fregosi.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Fenway Park II. The scheduled starters for the game are Mike O'Neill for the Tampon Bay Pussies and J A Happ for the the Boston Pilgrims.
