| Pussies Win, 4-3, Versus Stars | The Philadelphia Stars got a sterling performance from designated hitter Orlando Merced, but the Tampon Bay Pussies still prevailed, 4-3. Merced went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Roy Crabb earned the save, his 10th, for the Pussies. The win elevated the Pussies to 23-13.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Pussies had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when catcher Terry Steinbach hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Miles Mikolas and made the score 3-2, Pussies. Steinbach went 1 for 4.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Philadelphia skipper Frank Borawski.
