| On Road, Boston Beats Philadelphia, 4-1 | Philadelphia third baseman Jimmy T Williams had a good game, even if his team did not. The Stars dropped a 4-1 decision to Boston at Connie Mack Stadium. Williams was 3-3 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch. Henry Boyle came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. Picking up the save was Cody Allen. He's now 4 for 4 in save chances.
An important at-bat for the Pilgrims came in the top of the third, when second baseman Curt Flood stroked a solo home run. That made the score 3-1 in favor of Boston. For the day, Flood was 1 for 5 with a home run.
Flood told a Boston Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
