| Wright Blasts Stars, Yankees Take Game 4, 6-5 | The New York Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Stars, 6-5 in Game 4 of the Eliminator Round today. Making an impact was third baseman David Wright, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win moves New York into a 2-2 tie with Philadelphia in the series.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Wright delivered big-time for New York, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off George Sharrott. The game-changing hit put the Yankees on top, 6-5.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Wright.
Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Bobby J Jones for the New York Yankees and Pete Alexander for the the Philadelphia Stars.
