| On Road, Tampon Bay Beats Cleveland, 4-3 | The Tampon Bay Pussies weathered a fine game by Cleveland third baseman Kris Bryant to upend the Lake Monsters, 4-3, at Cleveland Stadium. Bryant went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The first-place Pussies have won 8 straight games.
The result might have been different for Tampon Bay, had it not been for Lee Maye, the 31-year old left fielder . Maye stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Tampon Bay up, 4-2. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
